Director and Founder

It has been an aspiration of Darren’s to have a dedicated and stand alone criminal law practice to cater for clients impacted by law enforcement agencies. Darren is one of Queensland’s most sought after criminal lawyers, obtaining outstanding results in extremely complex cases. He regularly appears in jurisdictions across Queensland. Darren brings a wealth of knowledge to the criminal field with over thirty years’ experience in the criminal justice system. He treats all client cases with respect and prides himself on providing clear and accurate legal advice.

Practice Manager

Elaine’s interest in law originated from legal studies in secondary school. Graduating from Queensland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Laws (Honours), she started her career with a major firm in Townsville. During this time, Elaine worked in all areas of law with her interest being in criminal law and advocacy. Elaine is the Practice Manager for Salt Legal. Senior Associate

Darryn has more than three decades of experience in the criminal justice system. He has worked in the Victorian and Queensland jurisdictions. Darryn has remained in the Townsville region for the past 22 years, and this journey has involved experiences as a defence lawyer and prosecutor. Darryn brings a wealth of knowledge and advocacy experience. He understands the law, the readings of the legislation, and most of all able to convey in simple language how the law is applied to the case facts. Legal Secretary

Ashley works alongside our solicitors in the daily management and preparation of legal matters. She also manages clients and keeps them informed on the progress of their case and court proceedings. Administrative Assistant

Desley joined Salt Legal in September 2022 in an Administrative role. She has over 40 years of experience in human resources, administration, and executive assistant roles in the private and public sector.
